Petta - A True Blue Rajini Movie

    The teasers, songs & trailers set a building anticipation for this movie & I wanted to watch it. All my favorite stars Vijay Sethupathi, Simran, Trisha cast in the movie gave me even more reason to watch at the earliest possible.
    So on a Monday night the day before Pongal, after a full day of work, Rajesh & I along with Varun set out for second show. This was Varun's second Rajini movie in theatre & he was super duper excited. Our biggest mistake was giving him ice cream, not any ice cream - COTTON CANDY ice cream. Add Pepsi to this & we had a super pumped, sugar charged toddler. For Rajini's intro we all cheered & clapped. The movie went uphill & Varun headed south. He couldn't sit still, he was hitting the front seat (Facepalm!!!), shouting & wanting a separate seat. Finally after the interval he fell asleep & the movie started to drag(Y God Y!!!)
    This is a complete Rajini movie. You get to see him in his full potential. The director has bought out the best in Rajini. You could not find a flaw in Rajini's acting, his costumes & his make-up. But the director failed to do justice to all the other characters like that of Booby Simha, Sasikumar, Vijay Sethupathi, Simran & Trisha to name a few. They were just used as fillers which is a shame given their talent. The role of the antagonist played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui was really awesome & note-worthy.
    I would give the movie 3/5. It was a awesome entertainer but with lots of room for improvement.

        Jampaica/Rose Apple/Water Apple/Malay Apple/Paneer Koiya these are the different names of the same fruit and these are my absolute favorite. Its sweet, a bit tangy & juicy. Usually we eat with some rock salt & chilly powder.     In my native, this tree used to grow in my Aunt Padma Athai's home. I used to go there & eat all the fruit!!!         Right from my childhood one of my favorite recipe was Macaroni. Mom used to make with all the vegetables & it used to be crunchy & spicy. Whenever i go home for Vacation from college this was on the menu. PV too shared my love for this macaroni of mom's. Amma used to pack this as lunch for PV & me during the car travel from Nagercoil to Chennai. But one hour into our journey we would practically polish off the whole box. I have tried so many times to replicate mom's recipe & have never been successful. Most days the longing for mom's macaroni taste has broken me completely.    So nowadays i dont try to replicate hers, instead have come up with numerous other variations. The Long Awaited Vacation - Part 2

     On friday(Jan 17) I woke up around 6.30 and geared up with hoodie and walked outside. Two doggies Ladoo & Boondhi greeted me. The caretaker called out and i was able to see just two bisons from a herd of atleast 50 to 60 on a nearby grassland. We had breakfast and got to pluck fresh strawberry & Potatoes from their backyard. It was a unique & beautiful experience.     By 11, they took us on a Jeep drive to a nearby Waterfalls called Chilanthiyar. This place is accessible only by Four wheel rides that too only jeeps and by walk. There was no roads only small boulders and by the time we reached down to the falls my legs were literally shaking with fear. The water was super cold and Varun enjoyed walking in them. The walk down was steep and enjoyable.The walk up literally left me out of breath and we super struggled to reach our jeep.      The Jeep ride to the top of the hill was one of the most unforgettable experiences in my lifetime.
