Thatha curry & weekend vibes

My weekdays are super busy with packed breakfast & lunches before 7.30 in the morning & one pot dinners in the evening. To come up with the menu itself is tiring. So on saturday I dont go anywhere near the kitchen. We usually get from outside. But Sunday's are different. I feel guilty for not cooking on Saturday & make something special for my two boys.
Fish is the favorite non-veg for all of us. A picky, choosy eater like Varun just sits & devours the rice if there is fish. So I made fish curry, fish fry, payaru thoran, Kerela red rice & papadom. The name of the fish curry is Thatha curry(Grandfather curry). My mother's maternal grandfather lived in a village alone after the grandmother's death. His daughter Ponnu Aachi who lived in the next village Kadukkarai sends his lunch every afternoon. The fish reaches the village in the 12 PM bus. By this time, the rice is ready & the gravy will be boiling in the stove & Aachi will just clean the fish & add to the gravy. By 12.30 the delivery guys(My mom & her cousins) are on their way to deliver the food. Thatha mixes the rice with gravy & gives a morsel for each child. To my mom, this was the best tasting food in the world.
This gravy is super spicy & made with little coconut, many small onions & chilly powder. Since Varun eats I adjusted the spice levels. Had a filling lunch & slept for straight 3 hours(Guilty pleasure!!!)
