Women Centric Books

I'm on my 35th book now and I realized that I have read quite a few books with strong women characters that inspire us to think big and achieve them too. This blog is about a few of those books.  Dear Mrs.Naidu by Madhangi Subramanian "Never Apologize for wanting something. Just find another way""He has a second chance & he doesn't want to take it. He didn't lose hope. He gave it up." The above two phrases in the book stood out so much because of the rawness & truth in them. This book is about a girl who tries to improve the condition of her school through the means available to her. A child should not be fighting for her/his education. The government & society as whole should work towards making education available for all. I would rate this book 4/5 for narration & captivating story telling. The mother I never knew by Sudha Murthy Sometimes a book surprises us and leaves you in tears while reading. This is one such read.

But this post is about my childhood tuition teacher Sakunthala Miss!!! She started taking tuition for my brother as my mom didn't have patience to make us sit and I used to join them right from LKG. I studied with her till 5th and then for my 10th board I again went to her. I used to learn the question along with the answer and recite to her. I know i was a big nerd and a show-off too 😀.     When my brother was studying for his 10th board exams, she used to rock him in my niece's cradle in order to coax him to study. She used to come at 6 in the morning, wake him up & was always attacked by his pet dog Pepsi for disturbing him. I learnt to drive so well in her 'Sunny boy' scooter. We both used to roam around our native singing loudly!!!     I always spent my pongal holidays in her home with her fam
